As part of a raft of small changes to Gmail, the app now has the option to disable its automatic saving of contacts. While many people find the ability find the automatic saving of any recipient a message is sent to to Google Contacts useful, for some it ends up creating too much clutter in their contacts list.
You can disable contacts auto-save in the “Create contacts for auto-complete” section of General tab of the Setting screen, as shown in the screenshot below.Continue
Facebook users can navigate several areas of the site using hotkey keyboard shortcuts rather than a mouse. As part of the recently expanded rollout of the light box photo viewing design, Facebook showed prompts announcing some hotkeys. These join the existing set that allow for rapid browsing of a user’s home page, notifications, search bar, account and privacy settings, Help Center and a few other areas.

In my recent post about ClipCube, a simple Windows app that enables you to check out previously copied/cut items and re-copy the to the clipboard, I said it was missing a couple of features I would have liked it to have: the ability to handle images and keyboard shortcuts. One of our readers, Brett, helpfully noted in the comments that he uses Ditto, a similar open-source tool that happens to have the functionality I was missing.Continue
