the New FriendFeed: coming out soon

friendfeed_logoFriendFeed, an online social content conversation site, is coming out with a new version of theirs’, which may or may not be called ‘FriendFeed Beta’. Features include sharing photos, videos, and music – a unique way to discover, discuss and share among friends and family.

FriendFeed

Here’s how it works; start off by inviting some of your friends, It automatically imports shared stuff from sites across the web, so if a friend adds a video to their favorites tab on YouTube, you receive a link and a thumbnail preview of the video in your (news) feed. Basically FriendFeed gathers up all the sites you already use and make the scenario a little more social.

While Facebook is encroaching on FriendFeed’s turf with feed importing and now comments, and on the other hand, AOL buying FriendFeed competitor SocialThing, it might be the right time for FriendFeed to evolve.

There are no installations needed but if you’re using Facebook, you can add the FriendFeed application to Facebook and connect your profile to all the other services you use around the web. FriendFeed is also viewable on your iGoogle homepage.

Although the new version of FriendFeed isn’t out yet; the over-view of features mentioned given above are likely to be rectified or bug-free in the next round. It must be said, that this was somewhat expected as FriendFeed has been relatively quiet in terms of updates, and now confirmation from Taylor has been received acknowledging that some works on the service are underway.

Hopefully this version will feature better filtration of feeds, or maybe a whole new look and feel? Speculation, although, is seemingly useless as most of FriendFeed’s updates seem to be features you didn’t even notice you wanted, but when you realize it, you did.
